  • They do great work at a great price.  all the latest gizmos & gadgets to diagnose with very fair prices  They work on my grandfathers 1970 MB and my family's new model MB's.  Compare pricing to FJ and you'll be astonished... And still have MB Mastertech working on car.  A+++

  • I had an amazing experience with these guys when my 1981 300D broke down driving through Chicago. I'm sad that I don't live there because I would take my car to them every time if I could. I can't say enough good things about the whole Burdi family. Carmine sr. knows old Mercedes like the back of his hand. These are the best mechanics I have ever been to.

  • Mr. Burdi:

After 3 months in Mexico, we are on our way to Houston. After you repaired our car, we traveled 30,000 miles with out any problems. Your help was good and we hope to see you in Germany. We are now traveling through the wild west until we ship our car back in mid April.

    Sincerely, Thomas

  • I searched for an alternative to taking my Mercedes Benz to the dealership for service when I had a bad experience at the dealership with overcharging and some damage to my car.

Burdi's Motor Works' website came up in my search results, and the information on the company website described exactly the services I was looking for.  Burdi's Motor Works' website has a great Q&A section with details on the different types of services that modern Mercedes Benz's need with their computerized service indicators.  The website also has some general guidelines about how long certain items should last and when they should be replaced.

The website brags that prices for repairs at Burdi's Motor Works are generally half the cost of what you would pay at the dealership.  I happened to require the same brake service within days.  My dealership charged me $750 for front brake pad and rotor service.

And at Burdi's Motor Works, the price for replacing just the brake pads was $250 and the owner of the shop let me know that on most Mercedes Benz models, the brake rotors ordinarily last 60,000 miles.  My car had only 19,500 miles.

I have completely lost faith in my dealer and I probably won't be back since I feel like I was taken advantage of there.  And as a testament to the boast on the website, my repair was more like 66% off.

Carmine Burdi is the owner of the shop, and is a Certified Mercedes Factory Trained Technician.  Look him up when you need to get your Mercedes Benz repaired, and do yourself a favor by saving yourself a load of cash.

  • "This place is wonderful. I have had my Mercedes Benz C230K there twice.  Once was for a level A service which cost me about $350 compared to dealership estimates of 500-825.  The work was performed in an efficient and professional manner.

My second visit was for a windshield wiper that decided to stop working during one of our snow storms this year.  I attempted a dealership repair as it is close to work but, the estimate was $1750.  I took it to Burdi, they gave me a loaner, and had my car fixed the next morning with a genuine Benz wiper motor for $640.  Carmine and Carmine Jr. are a father and son team that always go the extra mile with their service."

  • "Yesterday, I picked up my car from Burdi's Motor Works in Schiller Park Carmine Jr. went out of his way to pick me up after hours as my flight was delayed and I landed at 10:00PM on a Saturday.

I have a 2003 E320 that I have been taking to the dealer since new. However, the dealer began charging me too much so I started looking elsewhere.

I recently needed my brakes done and had a problem with the locking system. I took the car to 2 other inde shops on this forum before Burdi's (mainly because they were closer to me) but they could not fix my problem. I brought my car to Burdi's last week and Carmine Sr. was able to troubleshoot the locking problem on the spot. Carmine Sr. walked me through my car and showed me some features I didn't even know my car had.

This last week they did the brakes and saved me a lot of money. I highly recommend them and will be coming back again."

  • "Yeah all I can say is that I liked the place a lot, even more, very nice people and they took care of me pretty good. Carmine and specially his dad were very knowledgeable of my Mercedes model so I've decided to take my car there from now on for any kind of maintenance. It just feels better to take the car to someone that knows it than someone that's going to waste time trying to find things and end up breaking more things."

  • Burdi's me $4500! My local Mercedes dealer told me I needed a new transmission because it would not shift properly. After charging me $150 to (mis)diagnose the problem, they gave me an estimate for $4800 for the new transmission replacement. My co-worker recommended Burdi's for a another opinion which they DIDN'T charge me for! And they fixed the transmission shifting problem for $300. Wow!!!! I am really glad that I found this honest shop!

  • I called in with a problem that i had with my audio system and needed a code to reset it and they were REALLY NICE and gave me all the informaion regarding what steps i should take and they took there time to help me out and were very reliable. I would recommend this place due to the amount of care they give to each person no matter how small a matter it might be.

  • Had Carmine Burdi of Burdi's Motor Works in Schiller Park (Chicago) do a PPI for POS E320 wagon. Spotted things I hadn't noticed when I looked at it. Charged $75 which included driving out to western suburbs to go check it out. Gave good advice and good valuation of the beast including cost breakdown of possible repairs and alternatives. Spent lots of time going over options with me.

    Recommended.

  • Carmine is always easy to deal with, fixes everything that needs to be fixed. Maybe the most important thing is that he is not greedy so he always gives you a completely honest advice.

  • Carmine is a great mechanic, as a first time customer refered to them by the reviews on this site felt the others were spot on as Carmine was able to asses the problem with my vehicle (air sensor) at a low cost vs. another mechanic who said it was another part that would have cost over 600.00. Took my Jeep in as well & they were able to find, correct a leaking hose in little time. Will use them again. C

  • I had a CEL (Check engine light) on my ML-55 go on. Within 30 minutes they diagnosed the problem and took car of it. Cost: $ 45.00!! Wow, I said, MB Auth service wanted $100.00 just to look at the truck!! Then, my Service A indicator came on. MB wanted $300.00, Burdis was half the price for the same exact service. Guess what, they use MB parts, no aftermarket!!!
